I had to devise a way to simulate cloth at realtime, using only joints. This was the method I came up with and it seemed to be pretty successful, although it is based on Maya cloth as a start. Basically, locators are locked to the cloth surface using a rivet script, then joints were parented to the locators, a second mesh was skinned to the joints then baked. viola, joint based cloth with little to no rigging work. |
